Care Instructions

Our tartan coasters are made from 100% wool, which is naturally repellent to water and resistant to stains. Additionally, we apply a mild stain resist to the surface of the fabric to boost the resistance characteristics of the wool, without negatively affecting the texture.

Eventually through use, your tartan may become stained by red wine, black coffee or your preferred drink of choice. If still wet, the spill should be dabbed with a dry cloth, avoiding rubbing to absorb the spill. Any dried stains can be dabbed with a cloth damp with water, or with diluted detergent, followed by dabbing with a dry cloth.

Once cleaned, leave any moisture to dry naturally and avoid applying direct heat or sunlight to the coasters as they dry, as this may cause the wool to shrink.

At all times you should avoid scrubbing the surface of the fabric with a cloth. While wool is resilient, this may damage the surface texture of the fabric, as well as damage the adhesion of the fabric to the brass coaster with extreme scrubbing.

While not in use, we recommend you do not leave your coasters in direct sunlight, as the dyes in the fabric may be damaged by excessive exposure.
